Dr. Laura Brazelton, DVM
braz
Dr. Brazelton is a caring and energetic veterinarian
who graduated from the University of Illinois College
of Veterinary Medicine. Since high school, she has
been working with clients and pets at animal
hospitals.

She volunteered for a number of years
at the University of Illinois Wildlife Medical Clinic, Urbana, helping treat and care for injured Illinois wildlife, including foxes, rabbits, rodents, hawks, owls, and other birds. She also served as a member of
the executive board of the University of Illinois chapter of the American Association of Zoo Veterinarians (AAZV).

During summer breaks, Dr.Brazelton worked with exotics as an avian nursery attendant and as a zookeeper at Brookfield Zoo.

Dr.Brazelton pursued further training from experts in exotics medicine at several institutions across the country. She participated in externships at the University of Tennessee, the Knoxville Zoo,Louisiana State University, and the Ohio State University, treating tigers to alligator snapping turtles to llamas and everything in between!

Dr. Brazelton grew up with exotic pets in the family, and now she enjoys time at home with her chinchilla, Quaker parrot, and rabbit.When not at Midwest Bird & Exotic Animal Hospital or at home,Dr. Brazelton can usually be found outside hiking or running with her family and friends. She has an addiction to road trips and the talent of being able to teach anyone how to juggle!
