Dr. Cora grew up in Ankara, Turkey, surrounded by many stray cats, dogs, and pigeons she constantly brought home to care for. She grew up with budgies, red-eared slider turtles, and cats at home.
She moved to the United States at the age of 14 and fell in love with the different species of animals here - from opossums to cardinals. She enjoyed the variety of wildlife and volunteered at various wildlife clinics. She went to Brooklyn College, where she completed her pre-veterinary studies while getting a degree in Biology and Philosophy. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois. She has been an active hospice foster for elderly pets throughout veterinary school and grew an interest in pain management, palliative care, shelter medicine, and love for senior pets.
She enjoys exotic animal medicine as well as emergency medicine and urgent care. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering, vegan cooking, reading, and spending time with her big family of three dogs, two cats, a leopard gecko – and a human partner!
Dr. Cora loves caring for all animals, big and small, and can’t wait to meet you and your pet! She values the human-animal bond recognizing pets as family members, and is excited to give your family member the best care possible!
