Dr. Lopez Vargas was born and raised in Puerto Rico and moved to Illinois to attend the University of Illinois completing a major in Animal Sciences with a concentration in pre-veterinary medicine and a minor in chemistry. Dr. Lopez Vargas then went on to complete her DVM at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. Her biggest areas of interest in veterinary medicine include small exotics medicine, zoo medicine, emergency medicine, and theriogenology. Her hobbies include raising orchids, collecting antiques, and traveling. She is to complete a Ph.D. in Conservation Reproductive Biology in the future-- something she has been working towards and has even worked for the Smithsonian National Zoo in the past! She looks forward to meeting all of our client's adorable pets and giving them the best care!
